Fine, Fine, Fine
The location was perfect for leisurely days by the lake. I could walk right up to the water's edge! The Standard Queen Room was surprisingly spacious and generally clean, though a few spots on the walls needed attention. The breakfast area was always stocked up and offered a nice mix of hot and cold options, which I appreciated.
100% recommend 😊❤️

Should you go for it? my answer
Our experience was mixed. While the location by the lake was fantastic and the staff were kind, the room was clean but the breakfast quality has declined. Limited options nearby were disappointing. Overall, a decent place if you're looking for comfort near the water, but don't expect luxury.

the front desk staff were barely attentive and it was like pulling teeth to get information. Also, can we talk about the disgusting blood stains on one of the beds? Absolutely unthinkable! I thought I might deserve a complimentary upgrade after such horrors, but apparently, that's just for 'special' guests. you might want to try somewhere else, if you value cleanliness.

It was just a nice choice for a trip in Carlyle with good value for money. The lobby was nicely decorated for Christmas, creating a cozy vibe. Try to use the washer/dryer in the lobby area if you need to do laundry.

We enjoyed our stay at this place, especially having easy access to hiking and biking trails right on site. I took my daughter on a lovely bike ride along the trail that connects to Carlyle Lake. The self-serve breakfast was a nice perk too!
My wife thinks more kid-friendly activities would be great.

Location offers stunning views and easy access to the lake, making it ideal for outdoor activities. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive during our visit, ensuring a pleasant experience. However, the room cleanliness left room for improvement, as the floors needed more thorough cleaning, and the decor felt dated. Breakfast options were limited, with only basic fare available day-to-day, which could definitely benefit from expansion.

The location is idyllic, right next to the largest manmade lake in Illinois, offering stunning views and easy access to the water. The staff are genuinely warm and welcoming, making every guest feel at home. My room was spacious with excellent A/C, providing a comfortable refuge after a day by the lake.
Limited dining options nearby can be inconvenient for extended stays.
